How to grade your dog's food:
如何挑選狗食
Start with a grade of 100:
從100分開始計算
1) For every listing of "by-product", subtract 10 points
有任何by-product成分的 每一項扣10分
2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry", meat, meal or fat ) reference, subtract 10 points
有任何不確定動物來源(肉粉或是肉蓉) 每一項扣10分
3)If the food contains BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin, subtract 10 points
如果成分裡有BHA BHT或是ethoxyquin 扣10分 ↓

這個得請化工專業人士來解說一下, 但是主要是用來當抗氧化劑與防止食物長蟲的.
4) For every grain "mill run" or non-specific grain source, subtract 5 points
有任何穀物 如果有研磨或是沒確定來源的 每一項扣5分
5) If the same grain ingredient is used 2 or more times in the first five
ingredients (i.e. "ground brown rice", "brewera??s rice", "rice flour"
are all the same grain), subtract 5 points
如果成分裡前5項有用 2個以上的穀物 扣5分

這一項錯比較大, 應該翻成:
假使有同一個穀物成分在前五項原料中被使用了兩次以上
(例如:"ground brown rice", "brewer's rice", "rice flour"代表相同的穀物)
(ground brown rice是研磨的糙米, brewer's rice是釀酒用研磨的米, rice flour
是米磨成的粉)
6) If the protein sources are not meat meal and there are less than 2 meats in
the top 3 ingredients, subtract 3 points
如果蛋白質來源不是肉粉而前3項來源中用種以下的肉 扣3分

假使蛋白質的來源不是肉類及肉粉, 且前三樣主要原料中有不到兩樣的肉類,
扣三分.(這邊翻成肉類及肉粉, 考慮到像渴望的蛋白質來源就是肉佔了大部分 而非肉粉)
7) If it contains any artificial colorants, subtract 3 points
如果成分內有人工染色劑 扣3分
8 ) If it contains ground corn or whole grain corn, subtract 3 points
如果成分裡面有磨碎的玉米或是整棵玉米 扣3分
9) If corn is listed in the top 5 ingredients, subtract 2 more points
如果玉米在成分的前5項內 多扣2分
10) If the food contains any animal fat other than fish oil, subtract 2 points
如果成分內有動物脂肪 魚油除外 扣2分
11) If lamb is the only animal protein source (unless your dog is allergic
to other protein sources), subtract 2 points
如果蛋白質來源只有羊肉(除非你的狗對其他蛋白質來源過敏) 扣2分
12) If it contains soy or soybeans, subtract 2 points
如果成分裡面有大豆 扣2分
13) If it contains wheat (unless you know that your dog isna??t allergic to wheat), subtract 2 points
如果成分裡面有麥子 除非你知道你的狗對麥子不會過敏 扣2分
14) If it contains beef (unless you know that your dog isna??t allergic to beef), subtract 1 point
如果成分裡面有牛肉 除非你知道你的狗對牛肉不會過敏 扣1分
15) If it contains salt, subtract 1 point
如果成分裡面有鹽 扣1分
Extra Credit:
額外加分
1) If any of the meat sources are organic, add 5 points
如果任何肉是有機的 加5分
2) If the food is endorsed by any major breed group or nutritionist, add 5 points
如果食物對被任何主修飼養和營養學的團隊認同 加5分
3) If the food is baked not extruded, add 5 points
如果飼料是用烘培而非高溫高壓膨化 加5分

9) If the food contains flax seed oil (not just the seeds), add 2 points
如果成分裡面有亞麻油(不是只有亞麻子) 加2分
10) If the food contains oats or oatmeal, add 1 point
如果成分裡面有燕麥或是燕麥片 加1分
11) If the food contains sunflower oil, add 1 point
如果成分裡面有向日葵油(葵瓜子油) 加1分
12) For every different specific animal protein source
(other than the first one; count "chicken" and "chicken meal" as only one protein source,
but "chicken" and "" as 2 different sources), add 1 point
每一項另外動物蛋白質來源 (除了雞肉或是雞肉粉是同一項 除非是雞肉和"另一種肉")是另一種來源 加1分
13) If it contains glucosamine and chondroitin, add 1 point
如果成分有葡萄糖胺或是軟骨素 加1分
14) If the vegetables have been tested for pesticides and are pesticide-free,
add 1 point
如果用通過殺蟲劑測試的蔬菜 或是沒用殺蟲劑的蔬菜加1分
94-100+ = A
86-93 = B
78-85 = C
70-77 = D
<70 = F
